Morning Thought: On Monday a student came to me with a question, “Can instruments be used in worship?” Someone was trying to convince him that instruments were not allowed in worship, giving him a very lengthy book arguing his case. After surveying the book, I responded, “If God forbids instruments in worship then none of us can worship. We are all instruments of God. Our mouths and bodies are God’s instruments. If God allows us to worship him, then surely he can’t be against instruments.” You see, the Father wants to use you as his instrument to be a light to this world. And he also desires to use all your skills and everything under your care as instruments. God is not afraid of instruments; he has chosen to use them for his glory. “But the Lord said to him, “Go, for he is a chosen instrument of Mine, to bear My name before the Gentiles and kings and the sons of Israel” (Acts 9:15, NASB).
