The Power of Praise

Morning Thought: Praising God repels darkness. It’s like a dog-whistle to the devil. The sound of God’s praise pierces his ears, causing him to run for his life. Praise creates a barrier around you, keeping the evil one out and God’s presence in. Today, let God’s praise be continually in your mouth. “I will bless the LORD at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth” (Psalms‬ ‭34:1,‬ ‭NASB).‬‬

Reclaiming the Mouth-Gate

Today, I continued the series on reclaiming the gates. This one is all about the mouth-gate and focuses on the power of praise. Please share. You can stream or download both audio & notes. http://goo.gl/vdSsJy

A Three-Strand Cord

Morning Thought: If you are a child of God there are three disciplines that you will never regret. Actually, they get sweeter and sweeter, deeper and richer, as you mature. They are: 1) Daily Scripture Reading, 2) Daily Journaling and 3) Daily Prayer. These disciplines of grace are like a three-strand cord that is not easily broken. They will keep you entwined with the Lord and his will for your life. “A cord of three strands is not quickly torn apart” (‭Ecclesiastes‬ ‭4:12‬b, ‭NASB).‬‬

You Are His Home

Morning Thought: God saved you to dwell with you. You are not alone, the King is your friend. You are his home, make him feel at home today. “They will know that I am the Lord their God, who brought them out of Egypt so that I might dwell among them. I am the Lord their God” (Exodus‬ ‭29:46,‬ ‭NIV‬‬). “For we are the temple of the living God” (2 Cor. 6:16b, NIV).

The Deepest Abyss & the Highest Height

Morning Thought: The cross shows you the depths of hell and the heights of heaven. It fathoms the deepest abyss of man as Jesus hangs suffering as an outcast, rejected by God and man. And yet, paradox of paradoxes, the cross unveils the highest of heaven. On the cross we see the lamb of God slain before the foundation of the world, the pinnacle of sacrifice. God’s heart and love for you is displayed in graphic and undeniable detail. And the glory of it all is that death is swallowed up in victory for those who believe. “He will swallow up death for all time, And the Lord GOD will wipe tears away from all faces, And He will remove the reproach of His people from all the earth; For the LORD has spoken” (Isaiah‬ ‭25:8‬ ‭NASB‬‬).

Serenity Now :-)

Morning Thought: When there is something overwhelming on your plate, it’s easy to make decisions out of stress rather than serenity. Slow down. Don’t worry about tomorrow. You don’t have to solve all your problems in a day. There’s only one thing that is needful: sitting quietly at Jesus’ feet and drinking in his words. With his wisdom you will walk in peace. “But Martha was distracted with all her preparations…But the Lord answered and said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and bothered about so many things; but only one thing is necessary, for Mary has chosen the good part [sitting at the Lord’s feet, listening to his words], which shall not be taken away from her.” ‭‭(Luke‬ ‭10:40-42‬ ‭NASB‬‬).
