The Cause of Weariness (Video)

Do you know what the greatest cause of weariness is? It may not be what you expect. Here’s my 2-3 morning thought video from Monday. I forgot to post it then, but thanks to my friends, it had a good reception on Facebook.

Rising Above Weariness

Morning Thought: Our eternal God loves to give strength to the weary and worn out. Do you know the background behind, “those who wait on the Lord will renew their strength”? Israel had been devastated and Jerusalem destroyed by the Babylonians. In the rubble and ruin the Lord says, “wait in confident expectation on me.” Today, stop your busy schedule and wait in hope and expectation on the Lord. There’s no better way to do this than to get alone and read the Psalms. Listen to Isaiah’s promise to you: “Yet those who wait [hope] for the LORD Will gain new strength; They will mount up with wings like eagles, They will run and not get tired, They will walk and not become weary” ‭‭(Isaiah‬ ‭40:31‬, ‭NASB‬‬).

The Cause of Weariness

Do you know what is the greatest cause of weariness?

He Will Shepherd You

Morning Thought: Often we put too much weight on human beings caring for us. Yet, like a tree branch cracking under pressure, the sum of your cares outweigh any human’s ability to endure. Take comfort that the Lord himself is your shepherd. He will care, deliver, gather, feed, lead, seek, heal and strengthen you. Look to him and him alone. “For this is what the Sovereign Lord says: I myself will search for my sheep and look after them” (Ezekiel‬ ‭34:11‬, NIV‬‬).

The Root of Weariness

Morning Thought: The greatest weariness doesn’t come from difficult circumstances, but from not hearing God morning by morning. The Father’s voice is like bread that feeds your soul. But if you don’t hear him, your soul will starve. He has a word today that will strengthen and sustain you. Ask him for his daily bread, his living word. This morning let the Father open your ears and share his bread with the hungry. “The Sovereign Lord has given me a well-instructed tongue, to know the word that sustains the weary. He wakens me morning by morning, wakens my ear to listen like one being instructed” (Isaiah‬ ‭50:4,‬ ‭NIV‬‬).
