Discovering God's Glory One Day at a Time

Month: January, 2017

Faith Sees

Morning Thought: The lives of great men and women of God were lived by faith from beginning to end. They did not rely on what their eyes saw or their minds reasoned. Each day they followed God’s Word by faith. Faith enabled them to see the Lord where others saw a pile of dust. Faith sees HIM who is invisible. Today, live by faith. Hebrews says about Moses: “By faith he left Egypt, not fearing the king’s anger; he persevered because he saw him who is invisible” (Hebrews‬ ‭11:27‬, ‭NIV‬‬).

The People vs. God

Morning Thought: The Father loves to reverse man’s order. What people think is most important, he sees as least. What the majority neglect, gets his utmost attention. If it’s popular with the world it’s probably not esteemed by God. The Lord cuts down the high tree and causes the small tree to flourish. Do you value what God values? Listen to Ezekiel: “All the trees of the field will know that I am the LORD; I bring down the high tree, exalt the low tree, dry up the green tree and make the dry tree flourish. I am the LORD; I have spoken, and I will perform it” ‭‭(Ezekiel‬ ‭17:24‬, NASB‬‬).

Australia Day & Everyday

Morning Thought: Throughout history the most contested battles in court and conquest have been over land and property. In other words, who owns what. And before we have another battle on this beautiful day, let’s remember this simple truth: it’s the Lord who owns the land. It is HIS, not ours; we are only stewards. We can’t change history, but we can move forward by honouring one another and beholding the Lamb who takes away the sins of the world. “The earth is the LORD’S, and all it contains, The world, and those who dwell in it”‭ (‭Psalms‬ ‭24:1‬, NASB).

Morning Thought: Don’t multitask in worship, prayer and fellowship. A few years ago, multitasking was all the rage in time management. Apparently, you saved time by during a few things at once. Then, scientists realized it’s not how your brain works. You can only focus on one main thing at a time. What am I saying? When you are listening to preaching, don’t be planning the week ahead. When praying, watch out for the distraction of computers and phones. Give your God an undivided heart. “I will give them an undivided heart and put a new spirit in them; I will remove from them their heart of stone and give them a heart of flesh” ‭(‭Ezekiel‬ ‭11:19‬, ‭NIV‬‬).

What is the Greatest Name? (Video)

Want to know more about names? What about the greatest name? This short morning thought video will encourage you. Feel free to share.

The Greatest Name

Morning Thought: Names in the Bible are not merely labels, they mean something. They reflect the calling and character of the person. Do you know what the greatest name is? It’s Jesus. Jesus’ name simply means ‘the Lord saves.’ His name is God’s message to you and the world. Jesus doesn’t leave you in your sin, but saves you out of it. Moreover, he saves marriages, families, friends, relationships, towns and cities. Let Jesus bring his salvation to you today. “She will bear a Son; and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins” ‭(Matthew‬ ‭1:21‬, NASB‬‬).
