Discovering God's Glory One Day at a Time

Month: March, 2015

Entering the Cloud

Morning Thought: Stay close to Jesus. So close, that you are in him and he is in you. When Jesus was arrested, Peter followed him “at a distance.” Consequently, he denied Jesus. It’s not enough to be intrigued with God. Instead, the Father wants intimacy with you. Be like Moses, rather than the crowd. “The people remained at a distance, while Moses approached the thick darkness where God was” (‭Exodus‬ ‭20‬:‭21‬ NIV).

Safe in His Shelter

Morning Thought: When the storms sweep over you, striking the strength of your structures, there is only One in whom you can find shelter. He is the Saviour of all and with his arms open wide he says, “Come to me and find safety in the shade of my presence.” “Have mercy on me, my God, have mercy on me, for in you I take refuge. I will take refuge in the shadow of your wings until the disaster has passed” (‭Psalm‬ ‭57‬:‭1‬ NIV).

The Greatest Witness

Morning Thought: God saved you, not primarily to give you a ticket to heaven, but rather to enable you to walk with him day and night in the here and now. It is this kind of walk that will be the greatest witness of God’s reality to the world. “For You have delivered my soul from death, Indeed my feet from stumbling, So that I may walk before God In the light of the living” (Ps. 56:13, NASB).

The Joy of Change

Morning Thought: Am I pliable in God’s hands? Change is a way of life for those in Christ. Not any kind of change, like changing my hair style, but inward change that makes us more like Jesus. Sometimes these changes are sweeping and dramatic; other times, they are small refinements. But no matter the size, each day there should be something fresh and new about us. In Scripture, the wicked are defined by their unchanging nature; they are stiff-necked, stuck in their ways. But with Jesus we go from glory to glory. Look at the contrast between Psalm 59:19 and 2 Corinthians 3:18. “With whom there is no change, And who do not fear God” (Ps. 59:19b). “But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit” (2 Cor. 3:18).

God Saw Beneath

Morning Thought: Others walked passed, all they saw was a ball of mud. The Lord stopped and bent down, picking you up. He saw something beneath the surface. He washed you, knowing you were a pearl encased in mud. Then he held you close. You are his special treasure. “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light” (‭1 Peter‬ ‭2‬:‭9‬ NIV).

You Are God’s Treasure

Here’s the message I shared today. It’s about your value to God and the very reason he saved you (or wants to save you). Feel free to share with others. Audio & Notes: http://goo.gl/GSwYWq

Ps. I usually just share some of my writing on this site, but I thought it may be good to post some of my audio messages too.

Still Writing

Morning Thought: God is still writing the Bible. But this time it’s not on stone or scrolls, it’s on your heart. He’s finished the written Word—nothing can be added or taken from it. Now, he’s writing his story on your soul. Today, let the Lord keep writing so that the world can keep reading the eternal reality of God’s Word. “You yourselves are our letter, written on our hearts, known and read by everyone. You show that you are a letter from Christ, the result of our ministry, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts” (‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭3‬:‭2-3‬ NIV).
