Invasion of Light

Discovering God's Glory One Day at a Time

Month: August, 2015

Pulling Back the Curtains

Morning Thought: Your senses are like doors and windows to your soul. Keep open to God’s light, but closed to the serpent’s darkness. Look to the Lord and you will be radiant – your whole body will be full of light. “Your eyes are windows into your body. If you open your eyes wide in wonder and belief, your body fills up with light. If you live squinty-eyed in greed and distrust, your body is a dank cellar. If you pull the blinds on your windows, what a dark life you will have!” (‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6:22-23‬, MSG‬‬).

Reclaiming the Eye-Gate

I felt the message I shared today was one of the most important I’ve shared this year. It’s about reclaiming your eyes for God’s glory. Have a listen and please share. You can stream and download both audio and notes. Thanks!

Building People

Morning Thought: Building up people towers in importance over constructing buildings. When I was young I aspired to build casinos and skyscrapers. I even won prestigious awards for being a future business leader. But, the Word of God taught me that people are more valuable than things. Things crumble, but souls abide, even after bodies perish. Today, build up the people in your life. “So encourage each other and build each other up, just as you are already doing” ‭‭(1 Thes. 5:11,‬ ‭NLT‬‬).

The Secret to Great Strength

Morning Thought: What was the secret to Samson’s great strength? It was his obedience to God’s unique plan for his life. Obedience to God and his purpose for you will also be the secret to your strength. It will cost you, causing you to look strange. You’ll even attract the enemy’s attention, but it is worth being consecrated to God. “A razor has never come on my head, for I have been a Nazirite to God from my mother’s womb. If I am shaved, then my strength will leave me and I will become weak and be like any other man” (Judges‬ ‭16:17b,‬ ‭NASB‬‬).

This I Know

Morning Thought: Whatever is growling at you, seeking to threaten your life and peace, it’s no match to God. “This I know, that God is for me” (Ps 56:9‬b, NASB‬‬). “What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is against us?” (Rom. 8:31‬, NASB‬‬). Say to your soul and everything that is shaking you: “God is for me!”

By Faith

Morning Thought: Everything begins in the Christian life with faith. Faith is your response to God’s Word and work. It’s says, “I’m standing on your reality, not my understanding.” Today, walk by faith. “By faith Abraham, when he was called, obeyed by going out to a place which he was to receive for an inheritance; and he went out, not knowing where he was going” (Heb.‬ ‭11:8‬, NASB‬‬).

A Quiet Note

Morning Thought: There are days of trouble, times when adversity’s noise cranks up its volume. Sometimes it’s hard to hear God’s voice when pain is blaring. But in the storm’s rave, the Father passes you a small and quiet note, inviting you to call on his power. “Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I shall rescue you, and you will honor Me” (Ps‬ ‭50:15‬, NASB‬‬).
