Discovering God's Glory One Day at a Time

Month: March, 2017

The Mountain Pulveriser

Morning Thought: There are times when you are walking down God’s path and an unscaleable mountain stands in your way. It’s a mountain that threatens to obstruct you from fulfilling the Father’s will. It’s in these moments that you must put your faith in the Mountain-Mover. He who rolled the stone that trapped Jesus’ body in a tomb is able to remove the blockages locking you in. The Lord of the resurrection has no barriers. He moves the stone and pulverises the mountain. “What are you, O great mountain? Before Zerubbabel you will become a plain; and he will bring forth the top stone [completely rebuilding the temple] with shouts of ‘Grace, grace to it!’” ‭‭(Zechariah‬ ‭4:7,‬ ‭NASB‬‬).

Slay the Dragon

Morning Thought: Conflict is part of following Christ. Jesus’ archenemy will be your enemy. Like a fire-breathing dragon he will hurl fiery temptations toward you. He desires to consume you with lust and pride. Humility is the sword that slays this dragon. Humility submits to God and seeks shelter in God’s stronghold. In the Saviour’s stronghold you will stand firm and not be defeated. “But He gives a greater grace. Therefore it says, ‘GOD IS OPPOSED TO THE PROUD, BUT GIVES GRACE TO THE HUMBLE.’ Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you” (‭‭James‬ ‭4:6-7,‬ ‭NASB‬).

The Dragon Slayer

The Morning Mist

Morning Thought: There is something mystical and other-worldly about listening to Jesus in the early morning. It’s like the misty vapour arising in the early hours. It’s like encountering God’s cloud of glory, where the Father’s voice thunders, even if it’s a whisper. Put Jesus first. Let his voice be the start of your day. Then you will emanate the fragrance of heaven throughout your day. “And all the people would get up early in the morning to come to Him [Jesus] in the temple to listen to Him” (Luke‬ ‭21:38‬, ‭NASB‬‬).

The Window Cleaner

Morning Thought: Nobody likes dirty windows. It limits the light coming in and distorts what we see outside. Yet, does any of us really like cleaning windows? It’s a pain to get them looking crystal clear. Your eyes are also like windows. Through them you see the world and the world sees you. Don’t allow the windows of your eyes to get dirty through lust. Lust will blind you to God and others around you—you’ll see objects rather than people. Today, let Jesus clean your windows and maintain their shine through the water of God’s Word. “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God” ‭‭(Matthew‬ ‭5:8‬, NIV‬‬).

Your Window (Audio Message)

Today’s message is about the critical subject of your eyes. Your eyes are like windows. Make sure you keep your windows clean! Listen here and feel free to share.

Climb the Tree

Morning Thought: Remember Zacchaeus. Because of his height, he climbed a tree to see Jesus. It’s hard for us to see Jesus through the crowd. People and their opinions blind our view. Today, break away from the crowd and climb the tree of the cross. Then you will have the right perspective. From the cross you can truly see Jesus. Have you climbed that tree yet? “He [Zacchaeus] wanted to see who Jesus was, but because he was short he could not see over the crowd. So he ran ahead and climbed a sycamore-fig tree to see him, since Jesus was coming that way” ‭‭(Luke‬ ‭19:3-4‬, ‭NIV‬‬).
