I’m Counting on God

Morning Thought: In the Hebrew and Christian calendar Shavuot/Pentecost is a few days away. Now is a time of counting called Counting the Omer. It’s like a countdown to the harvest. And for Christians we are counting down till the fire falls — a time of expectancy (Acts 2:1-4). Look, I’m discouraged sometimes. You may be too. So I counted all the sheep in our flock and prayed for them by name. It’s not many, but each one is worth around a hundred people to me — so we have a mega church. Then the Holy Spirit led me to count all the words I’ve written over the last 23 years. By God’s grace, I’ve written over 2.5 million words, amounting to 30+ full length books of material for discipleship. Most of this has been invested into our church and Bible School community. And through God’s power, it’s not over yet. Is counting godly? It can be if done with the right heart for God’s purpose.

Born and raised on Long Island, New York, I migrated to Australia in 1999. That’s when I married my beautiful wife, Anna, and we planted our church and Bible School. We’re now the proud parents of four children, ranging in age from nine to twenty-two. We’re still pastoring the same beautiful church, Church on the Park, in the the heart of Brisbane, Australia (https://www.brisbanefire.com). We also continue to teach our awesome students at Holy Fire Ministry Training School (https://www.holyfireschool.com). I love to write and encourage God's people. And something that many people don't know, I'm a DJ as well (aka DJ SOL Vibes).
