The Bedrock of Blessed Relationships

Morning Thought: Yesterday Anna & I sat by the bay and brought our journals. We shared what God had been speaking to us and we were both encouraged. In a few days we celebrate nineteen years of marriage. And we can both say that putting God first, not in words only but in action, is the foundation of a lasting marriage. And not only is the living God the foundation of marriage, but of every healthy relationship. When the foundation is strong the structure built upon it survives and thrives. Jesus said, “Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock. Though the rain comes in torrents and the floodwaters rise and the winds beat against that house, it won’t collapse because it is built on bedrock” ‭‭(Matthew‬ ‭7:24-25,‬ ‭NLT‬‬).
