First Things First

Morning Thought: I’m thinking about Mary and Martha today. Martha had such a beautiful heart––she welcomed Jesus into her home. However, she got distracted by being a host and forgot what was most important. What was first? Coming to a place of rest and listening to Jesus. Jesus wants us to enjoy his presence and Word. Sometimes when we hold church meetings and big events we also get distracted. Yes, there are preparations, but let us not lose focus. Jesus wants us to experience him. Let’s prepare before hand so that we can enjoy Jesus’ presence, sit at his feet and wash in his Word. “Martha welcomed Him into her home…Mary…was seated at the Lord’s feet, listening to His word. But Martha was distracted with all her preparations” (Luke 10:38-42).
