Morning Thought: The perfection of heaven is not the perfection of perfectionism. Instead, after Jesus’ resurrection, he still bears his wounds. Also, in the heavenly throne room of Revelation 5, Jesus still looks like a lamb slain. Heaven is the glorification of the broken. The redeemed have scars, but the beauty of Christ’s life and healing shines through them. We are like stained glass windows: shattered glass artfully crafted. Now his light in all its multifaceted colour shines through us. “And I saw between the throne (with the four living creatures) and the elders a Lamb standing, as if slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God, sent out into all the earth” (Revelation 5:6 NASB).
