The Crisis & the Cleansing

Morning Thought: When you truly hear God’s Word it creates a crisis within. “How am I able to live up to this?” This crisis compels you to call on the Lord. “Father, empower me to live out your Word. Cleanse me from all my unrighteousness.” The Word that pierces like a sword produces prayer. And prayer connects you to God’s power. The Word that is not converted to prayer will make you feel condemned. But the Word converted to prayer brings cleansing. When you cast yourself on Christ’s mercy, the Word is no longer a threat, it’s your friend. “Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need” (‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭4:16‬, ‭NASB‬‬; cf. Heb. 4:12).

Born and raised on Long Island, New York, I migrated to Australia in 1999. That’s when I married my beautiful wife, Anna, and we planted our church and Bible School. We’re now the proud parents of four children, ranging in age from nine to twenty-two. We’re still pastoring the same beautiful church, Church on the Park, in the the heart of Brisbane, Australia (https://www.brisbanefire.com). We also continue to teach our awesome students at Holy Fire Ministry Training School (https://www.holyfireschool.com). I love to write and encourage God's people. And something that many people don't know, I'm a DJ as well (aka DJ SOL Vibes).
