The State of our Youth

Morning Thought: Today, I’m thinking about the state of our youth in America, Australia and throughout the world. We don’t teach them wisdom, but we expect them to be wise. We instruct them to memorise facts, but we fail to instruct them on character. We can’t expect to reap where we have not sown. We’ve thrown God out of school, but we get angry when God doesn’t protect our schools. When we lose the fear of the Lord (reverence of God) we’ve lost everything. It’s time we stop this systemic hypocrisy. If we don’t, things are just going to get worse. But if we humble ourselves and return to the Lord, we will make a tangible and measurable change. As Paul said, “Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man [as well as a nation, family or marriage] reaps what he sows” (Galatians 6:7, NIV).

Born and raised on Long Island, New York, I migrated to Australia in 1999. That’s when I married my beautiful wife, Anna, and we planted our church and Bible School. We’re now the proud parents of four children, ranging in age from nine to twenty-two. We’re still pastoring the same beautiful church, Church on the Park, in the the heart of Brisbane, Australia (https://www.brisbanefire.com). We also continue to teach our awesome students at Holy Fire Ministry Training School (https://www.holyfireschool.com). I love to write and encourage God's people. And something that many people don't know, I'm a DJ as well (aka DJ SOL Vibes).
