Morning Thought: The cross of Jesus is the basis on which you receive God’s grace. Imagine you were a slave being sold to the highest bidder. The worst taskmaster in town was offering the highest price for you. Then a mysterious man shows up. He says, “Whatever the taskmaster offered, I will double it. More than that, I will give everything for that person.” The mysterious man wins, and then tells you, “I’m setting you free. Live a life of love and peace.” That mysterious man is Jesus and when he died on the cross, he gave everything to set you free from the slavery of sin and death. Walk free because he paid the highest price. “Christ redeemed us from the curse of the Law, having become a curse for us – for it is written, ‘Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree’” (Galatians 3:13, NASB).
