Morning Thought: When God gives you a dream, vision or word, you may think, like Joseph, that it will immediately come to pass. But God’s Word comes like a seed and goes through three distinct phases in your life. First, the dream. This stage is filled with joy and ecstasy. Second, the development. This is a time of discipleship and discipline. It’s uncomfortable, even painful, but the seed is growing. Lastly, the delivery. Like a baby being born, it will mean labour, but also the joy of God’s Word fulfilled. Don’t move too fast and rush God’s work within. Hold on to the dream, surrender in the development and wait for the delivery. “They afflicted his [Joseph’s] feet with fetters, he himself was laid in irons; Until the time that his word came to pass, the word of the LORD tested [purified] him” (Psalms 105:18-19, NASB).
