Set your Face

Morning Thought: Set your face like flint to do the Father’s will. If sailors are led by the wind, they will never get to their destination. Circumstaces, like wind, blow from every direction, but they should not lead you. Voices also call from every side. They will try to tell you what you need to do. Family, friends and the crowd may pull you here and there. But in the end you answer to God, not them. Listen to Jesus and resolve to do the Father’s will. “The Lord GOD has opened My ear; And I was not disobedient Nor did I turn back…For the Lord GOD helps Me, Therefore, I am not disgraced; Therefore, I have set My face like flint, And I know that I will not be ashamed” (Isaiah‬ ‭50:5, 7,‬ ‭NASB‬‬).

Born and raised on Long Island, New York, I migrated to Australia in 1999. That’s when I married my beautiful wife, Anna, and we planted our church and Bible School. We’re now the proud parents of four children, ranging in age from nine to twenty-two. We’re still pastoring the same beautiful church, Church on the Park, in the the heart of Brisbane, Australia (https://www.brisbanefire.com). We also continue to teach our awesome students at Holy Fire Ministry Training School (https://www.holyfireschool.com). I love to write and encourage God's people. And something that many people don't know, I'm a DJ as well (aka DJ SOL Vibes).
