Morning Thought: Jesus’ response to his enemies’ rage was not to physically fight back, but to pray. On the mountain the Father gave him a new strategy. Jesus was to choose a remnant of twelve disciples to fulfill Israel’s mission, a mission that was sadly lost by their religious institutions. In prayer, the Father spoke to him to pour his life into a few. It’s in secret, rather than in the show, that the real revolution happens. “But they themselves were filled with rage, and discussed together what they might do to Jesus. It was at this time that He went off to the mountain to pray, and He spent the whole night in prayer to God. And when day came, He called His disciples to Him and chose twelve of them, whom He also named as apostles” (Luke 6:11-13, NASB).
