40

Morning Thought: Did you know Psalm 40 has a very strange expression in it? Literally it says, “My ears you have dug.” What does that mean? When you buy land, you usually dig. You dig to lay a foundation and connect pipes. You may even dig to find treasure. When the Father purchases you, he also begins digging. He will excavate your ears, removing the dirt so that you can hear him. Let the Lord work deep within so you can hear his voice. “Sacrifice and meal offering You have not desired; My ears You have opened [lit. dug]; Burnt offering and sin offering You have not required. Then I said, ‘Behold, I come; In the scroll of the book it is written of me. I delight to do Your will, O my God; Your Law is within my heart’” (Psalms‬ ‭40:6-8,‬ ‭NASB‬‬).

Born and raised on Long Island, New York, I migrated to Australia in 1999. That’s when I married my beautiful wife, Anna, and we planted our church and Bible School. We’re now the proud parents of four children, ranging in age from eight to twenty-one. We’re still pastoring the same beautiful church, Church on the Park, in the the heart of Brisbane, Australia (https://www.brisbanefire.com). We also continue to teach our awesome students at Holy Fire Ministry Training School (https://www.holyfireschool.com). I love to write and encourage God's people. And something that many people don't know, I'm a DJ as well (aka DJ SOL Vibes).
