Morning Thought: Did you know Psalm 40 has a very strange expression in it? Literally it says, “My ears you have dug.” What does that mean? When you buy land, you usually dig. You dig to lay a foundation and connect pipes. You may even dig to find treasure. When the Father purchases you, he also begins digging. He will excavate your ears, removing the dirt so that you can hear him. Let the Lord work deep within so you can hear his voice. “Sacrifice and meal offering You have not desired; My ears You have opened [lit. dug]; Burnt offering and sin offering You have not required. Then I said, ‘Behold, I come; In the scroll of the book it is written of me. I delight to do Your will, O my God; Your Law is within my heart’” (Psalms 40:6-8, NASB).
