Morning Thought: Make sure your giftings and character are well balanced. Your giftings and character are like two people on opposite sides of a seesaw. If your giftings heavily outweigh your character, the seesaw becomes like a catapult, spiralling you into the air for a bone breaking fall. But when your character and giftings are rightly balanced, there is joy and delight, both for yourself and others. “If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing…When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me” (1 Cor. 13:1-2, 11 NIV).
