Morning Thought: The Father spoke to me in an unusual way during my prayer time. Our new cat, Sunny, was with me, sitting on my desk, keeping me company. I wondered, “If I open the door will the cat stay or go?” I was hoping he stayed but you can guess what happened. The moment I opened the door, Sunny bolted out of my study.
Our Father doesn’t open doors just so we can walk through them. Often he’s testing us. Are we willing to stay close to him? Are we willing to be led by his Spirit rather than opportunities? Waiting with God, on God and for God is one of the marks of spiritual maturity. “Wait for the Lord; Be strong and let your heart take courage; Yes, wait for the Lord” (Ps. 27:14, NASB).
