Morning Thought: The Sermon on the Mount has a five part structure and begins with the beautifully poetic Beatitudes. The whole sermon is a microcosm of the five books of the Torah. Jesus calls us to be living Torahs — flesh and blood examples of God’s way — not merely outwardly but inwardly. This is only possible through the key revealed in the first verse of the Beatitudes: humility (Matt. 5:3).
