Morning Thought: Spit is despised. In ancient times (even today) to spit in front of someone was a curse. Yet, to the man born blind, Jesus turned the curse into a blessing. Spitting on the ground, Jesus made clay and rubbed it on the blind man’s eyes. After the man washed in the pool of Siloam, he was able to see. No matter how you feel, Jesus can turn the dirt of your life into a blessing, enabling you to see. And that’s the great mystery of the cross. “After saying this, he [Jesus] spit on the ground, made some mud with the saliva, and put it on the man’s eyes. ‘Go,’ he told him, ‘wash in the Pool of Siloam’ (this word means ‘Sent’). So the man went and washed, and came home seeing.” (John 9:6-7, NIV). Inspired by Anna’s message yesterday.
