We’re looking forward to an awesome semester in 2022. Check out the subject descriptions.
The Rising of Yahweh’s Warriors (Joshua – 2 Chronicles)
What does it mean to be a Kingdom warrior? In this subject, we’ll look at the example of God’s mighty warriors, focusing on the books of Joshua to 2 Chronicles. By studying women like Deborah and men like Joshua, we will learn how to fight the good fight of faith and fulfil our purpose. The Rising of Yahweh’s Warriors is part of our three-year journey through Scripture, surveying the depths and heights of God’s Word and applying it to our lives. As the Lord said to Joshua, “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not tremble or be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go” (Joshua 1:9, NASB).
How to Study God’s Word: Tools to Mine the Bible’s Treasures
How can you effectively study Scripture? In this subject, you will receive the tools you need for a lifetime of drawing out the treasures of God’s Word. By learning the core principles of exegesis (drawing out the meaning of the Bible), you will discover how to apply the Word. The goal of all sound interpretation is to put Scripture into practice. Most of all, you will enjoy and value God’s truth more than ever. Paul wrote, “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, accurately handling the word of truth” (2 Tim. 2:15, NASB).
The Joy of Discipleship: Jesus’ Call to Abide
What is a disciple of Jesus? And why does following Jesus bring so much joy? In these classes, we will learn to be disciples of Jesus. We will especially discover what it means to abide in him and him in us. Particular emphasis will be placed on the Tabernacle of Moses and the beautiful pictures it subtly reveals about how to host and live in God’s presence. Jesus said, “Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you unless you abide in me” (John 15:4, NASB).
