In Pursuit

Morning Thought: When I came to Australia in 1999, the Holy Spirit began to connect me with God-seekers. These are a generation who pursue God with all their hearts and desire his presence above all. One of them was Paul Jackson. Paul was an adventurous youth pastor but he prioritised seeking God’s face with his youth. The Lord honoured them and his presence was tangible in their meetings. Inspired by his message this week, I began a fresh poetic translation of Psalm 24. Here’s a small bit of my draft of Psalm 24:3-6.

Who
Will Go Up
Yahweh’s Mountain?
Who will Rise Up into His Holy Place?

Clean,
Unfettered Hands,
A Pure,
Open Heart ––
Not Drawn
to Emptiness,
my soul,
Nor Bound
to a Mirage.

Yahweh Raises
a Blessing
on these ones;
Justice
Flows
from
the God
of their
Salvation.

This Generation
is on a
Quest
for Him ––
They Discover
His Presence,
They Pursue
like Jacob. ||

Born and raised on Long Island, New York, I migrated to Australia in 1999. That’s when I married my beautiful wife, Anna, and we planted our church and Bible School. We’re now the proud parents of four children, ranging in age from eight to twenty-one. We’re still pastoring the same beautiful church, Church on the Park, in the the heart of Brisbane, Australia (https://www.brisbanefire.com). We also continue to teach our awesome students at Holy Fire Ministry Training School (https://www.holyfireschool.com). I love to write and encourage God's people. And something that many people don't know, I'm a DJ as well (aka DJ SOL Vibes).
