Morning Thought: God’s people are called to be a prophetic people—a people who hear, live and speak God’s Word. We have been chosen to be like Samuel. Even though he was young and surrounded by sin, he kept a pure and humble heart. Because of his innocence, God spoke to Samuel and made him a mighty prophet to his nation. Where are today’s Samuels? “Now the boy Samuel was ministering to the LORD before Eli. And word from the LORD was rare [like a precious stone] in those days, visions were infrequent” (1 Samuel 3:1, NASB).
