The Sword’s Purpose

Morning Thought: God has kindly given us his own sword, the sword of the Spirit, which is his Word. This sword helps us fight our own personal battles but also has a far greater purpose: to empower us to fight for one another. It also equips us to fight against the works of darkness together. God’s Kingdom is an advancing Kingdom, setting captives free and taking ground from the evil one. At times we camp to sharpen our swords, and at times we march, wielding our swords. Are you guarding yourself? Are you fighting for one another? Are we declaring God’s promises and prophecies for our localities? “And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God” (‭‭Eph.‬ ‭6:17,‬ ‭NASB‬‬).

Born and raised on Long Island, New York, I migrated to Australia in 1999. That’s when I married my beautiful wife, Anna, and we planted our church and Bible School. We’re now the proud parents of four children, ranging in age from nine to twenty-two. We’re still pastoring the same beautiful church, Church on the Park, in the the heart of Brisbane, Australia (https://www.brisbanefire.com). We also continue to teach our awesome students at Holy Fire Ministry Training School (https://www.holyfireschool.com). I love to write and encourage God's people. And something that many people don't know, I'm a DJ as well (aka DJ SOL Vibes).
