Morning Thought: Religious joy is boxed up. It has it’s time and place. Afterwards, it must be silenced. The joy from God is different. It breaks out of all boxes and human confinements. It’s exhilarating joy. It puts a smile on your face and a skip in your step. It laughs, sings and celebrates. It’s as strong on a Monday morning as on a Sunday morning. This is the joy of being in Christ. The same anointing the Father pours on his Son, he pours on you. It’s the same quality, the same potency and the same measureless quantity. It’s the joy of being eternally married to the King of Kings––the abounding delight of sitting with him as his chosen companion in the heavenly realms. “You’ve loved what’s right and hated what’s wrong. Therefore God, your God, has anointed you with the oil of exhilarating joy above your companions” (Psalm 45:7, personal translation).
