Morning Thought: Find the Rahabs. In almost every city, town and village there are people who will welcome the Good News. The majority may be tightly shut off and resistant to God. We make a mistake by focusing on the hardened ones. But there are those who are open. Rahab in Joshua’s day welcomed God’s messengers and message at the risk of her own life. She did not trust in the power of Jericho, but trusted in God’s power. Even though she was a prostitute, she left the old life for the new. And though a foreigner to God’s covenant, she believed and was included in God’s plan to give the Messiah to the world. Invest in those whose hearts are soft toward God. “By faith the prostitute Rahab, because she welcomed the spies, was not killed with those who were disobedient” (Hebrews 11:31, NIV).
