Who’s First?

Morning Thought: When I was a young man going to Bible School it was every man for himself at the table. We prayed, then we all quickly grabbed what we wanted, filling our cups and plates. Then, we met a man from Israel. After saying grace, he would serve everyone else, then he would sit to eat. This was one of the greatest expressions of the Kingdom I had ever seen. It wasn’t about ‘falling out in the Spirit,’ instead it was about putting others first. When you put someone first, you honour them. We may say we put God first, but it’s in our everyday actions that our faith is expressed. Today, give God your first and best. “But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you” (‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6:33‬, NASB‬‬).

Born and raised on Long Island, New York, I migrated to Australia in 1999. That’s when I married my beautiful wife, Anna, and we planted our church and Bible School. We’re now the proud parents of four children, ranging in age from eight to twenty-one. We’re still pastoring the same beautiful church, Church on the Park, in the the heart of Brisbane, Australia (https://www.brisbanefire.com). We also continue to teach our awesome students at Holy Fire Ministry Training School (https://www.holyfireschool.com). I love to write and encourage God's people. And something that many people don't know, I'm a DJ as well (aka DJ SOL Vibes).
