Morning Thought: Jesus’ salvation is like being quarried from a rock. He breaks you free from the mass of humanity dwelling in darkness. Now, you are in his light. You may be tempted to think it’s over, but actually it’s just beginning. Jesus has a chisel in his hand and he begins to shape you. He breaks off the pieces that don’t belong. He smoothes out the rough edges of pride. He removes the crevices of dark and hidden sin. You see, he is forming you for a purpose. You are his living stone, quarried and chiselled for his house so that you may host the fullness of God’s presence. Jesus said, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven. And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it” (Matthew 16:17-18, NKJV).
