Morning Thought: God shields his children. Yesterday, I was minding my own business on the train when an older man singled me out and began to attack me. Everything he had in his pockets he threw at my direction: wallet, keys, coins and pens. Some of them were aimed at my face. However, I was sitting behind a small and transparent plastic shield. The things aimed at me just bounced off the shield. I then tried to help the man, but he was full of rage. I walked away and he kept following me. In the end, I quickly jumped off the train so he couldn’t chase me. I was reminded of the Scripture about God’s children: “who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time” (1 Peter, 1:5, NIV). The enemy rages against us, but we are shielded by God’s protection.
