Morning Thought: Our four-year-old daughter, Valerie, has never been taught to memorise. Yet, she remembers all the four and six digit passwords to our phones. We told her them a couple of times, and now she unlocks our phones all by herself. Why? She loves what she can do with them—playing games and watching kid videos. We memorise things when we delight in them. It’s the same with Scripture. Nothing will keep you out of the Word when you enjoy it. Memorisation and meditation will be easy when it’s your joy and delight. Father, cause us to delight in your teaching. “Blessed is the one…whose delight is in the law of the LORD, and who meditates on his law day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither— whatever they do prospers” (Psalm 1:1-3 NIV).
