Morning Thought: “The LORD says to my Lord: ‘Sit at My right hand Until I make Your enemies a footstool for Your feet’” (Psalms 110:1). A Christian does not see a fellow human being as an enemy. Instead, we pray for all to know God’s mercy and salvation. Our enemies are unseen—they’re sin, death and the forces of darkness. These are the things that Jesus was sent to destroy. As you sit with Christ—in the place of heavenly perspective, position and protection—God fights against these enemies for you. Your call is rest in Christ’s authority and rule over these enemies through his power. Psalm 110 goes on to read, “The LORD will stretch forth Your strong scepter from Zion, saying, ‘Rule in the midst of Your enemies'” (Psalms 110:2, NASB).
