Vintage Morning Thought: Where would you like to live? Some want to live by the shore, others in a quiet country cottage. You may long to escape to an island or explore Africa’s jungles. But the best place to live is Wisdom’s house. In Proverbs, Solomon describes two houses, each advertising for new residents. Both wisdom and folly want to host you. One will raise you up, the other will drag you down. Here’s the thing: you can’t bounce from one house to another. Wisdom only takes permanent residents. “Wisdom has built her house, she has hewn out her seven pillars..she calls from the tops of the heights of the city: ‘Come, eat of my food and drink of the wine I have mixed. Forsake your folly and live, and proceed in the way of understanding'” (Proverbs 9:1, 3, 5-6, NASB).
