Morning Thought: Give God your best, not your leftovers. In Malachi’s day the priests got tired of worship and started bringing God the cheapest sacrifices. Instead of offering the Lord their best, they offered blind, lame and sick animals. It’s easy for us to fall into the same trap. Today, God is not looking for blood sacrifices since Christ shed his blood for us. Instead, he is looking for your whole heart and the giving of your best to worship him. “’For from the rising of the sun even to its setting, My name will be great among the nations, and in every place incense is going to be offered to My name, and a grain offering that is pure; for My name will be great among the nations,’ says the LORD of hosts” (Malachi 1:11, NASB).
