Fading Out

NY Morning Thought: “He [Jesus] must increase, but I must decrease” (John 3:30). The order of John the Baptist’s statement is significant. I often hear it said, “I must decrease and he must increase,” but that is not the right order. Why? Because it puts the emphasis on you and your work first. Jesus must always be first. As his presence, work and word increase in your life, then you become less important. May it be your sole passion that Christ is exalted in your life, that he becomes greater and greater. Let him take centre-stage as you work behind the scenes, shining the spotlight on him. Like a DJ fades one song into another, allow the Lord to fade up, while you fade out.

Born and raised on Long Island, New York, I migrated to Australia in 1999. That’s when I married my beautiful wife, Anna, and we planted our church and Bible School. We’re now the proud parents of four children, ranging in age from nine to twenty-two. We’re still pastoring the same beautiful church, Church on the Park, in the the heart of Brisbane, Australia (https://www.brisbanefire.com). We also continue to teach our awesome students at Holy Fire Ministry Training School (https://www.holyfireschool.com). I love to write and encourage God's people. And something that many people don't know, I'm a DJ as well (aka DJ SOL Vibes).
