NY Morning Thought: I came to New York to encourage my dad in light of my mom going to her eternal home about a year ago. The Lord spoke to my heart: “Honor your father.” I then became intrigued by the word ‘honor’ and what it means in the original Hebrew. Simply put, it means weight. In other words, it’s seeing and treating someone with importance. God weighs things differently than us. People tend to value celebrities, athletes and possessions. The Lord sees real relationships as far more important. When you honor you bless someone else, but you also are blessed in the process. Is there someone you can honor today? “Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves” (Romans 12:10, NIV).
