Honor

NY Morning Thought: I came to New York to encourage my dad in light of my mom going to her eternal home about a year ago. The Lord spoke to my heart: “Honor your father.” I then became intrigued by the word ‘honor’ and what it means in the original Hebrew. Simply put, it means weight. In other words, it’s seeing and treating someone with importance. God weighs things differently than us. People tend to value celebrities, athletes and possessions. The Lord sees real relationships as far more important. When you honor you bless someone else, but you also are blessed in the process. Is there someone you can honor today? “Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves” ‭‭(Romans‬ ‭12:10,‬ ‭NIV‬‬).

Born and raised on Long Island, New York, I migrated to Australia in 1999. That’s when I married my beautiful wife, Anna, and we planted our church and Bible School. We’re now the proud parents of four children, ranging in age from nine to twenty-two. We’re still pastoring the same beautiful church, Church on the Park, in the the heart of Brisbane, Australia (https://www.brisbanefire.com). We also continue to teach our awesome students at Holy Fire Ministry Training School (https://www.holyfireschool.com). I love to write and encourage God's people. And something that many people don't know, I'm a DJ as well (aka DJ SOL Vibes).
