The Consumer & the Consumed

Morning Thought: There’s two kinds of Christians: the consumer and the consumed. The consumer seeks what others can do for them. They shop for churches and ministries like a bargain hunter looking for the latest deals. The consumed, however, are consumed with the Holy Spirit’s fire. They’re not desiring discounts. They want one thing: that Jesus would be exalted in them whether by life or death. Paul put it like this: “My earnest expectation…that with all boldness, Christ will even now, as always, be exalted in my body, whether by life or by death” (‭‭Philippians‬ ‭1:20‬ ‭NASB‬‬).
