The Parable of the Young Tree

Morning Thought: Will it help a young tree if you grab and shake it, shouting, “GROW!”? It’s possible that your frustration and force will actually break the tree. Growth doesn’t happen through mere desire; you need to do things a certain way. Care for the tree. Water it. Provide sun and nutrients. In the same way, you may be frustrated by your own life, others and the church. You want growth, but you may not be going about it the right way. But if you’re on the right path, be patient, you will bear good fruit. “Therefore be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. The farmer waits for the precious produce of the soil, being patient about it, until it gets the early and late rains” (James‬ ‭5:7‬, NASB‬‬).

Born and raised on Long Island, New York, I migrated to Australia in 1999. That’s when I married my beautiful wife, Anna, and we planted our church and Bible School. We’re now the proud parents of four children, ranging in age from eight to twenty-one. We’re still pastoring the same beautiful church, Church on the Park, in the the heart of Brisbane, Australia (https://www.brisbanefire.com). We also continue to teach our awesome students at Holy Fire Ministry Training School (https://www.holyfireschool.com). I love to write and encourage God's people. And something that many people don't know, I'm a DJ as well (aka DJ SOL Vibes).
