Follow the Father, not Fame

Morning Thought: Jesus’ father, Joseph, is a great example of how to be a father. The Heavenly Father entrusts Joseph with his child because he is a righteous man. Joseph leads his family by listening to God. Joseph goes where God wants him to go and stays where he wants him to stay. Because of Joseph’s leadership the child, Jesus, is not killed in Herod’s mass infanticide. Instead, he grows up in a quiet and obscure town, Nazareth, and learns his father’s trade. Joseph does not seek fame for his son, only to be obedient. Be a father that is led by the Lord. “Joseph obeyed. He got up, took the child and his mother, and reentered Israel…But then Joseph was directed in a dream to go to the hills of Galilee. On arrival, he settled in the village of Nazareth. This move was a fulfillment of the prophetic words, “He shall be called a Nazarene”” ‭‭(Matthew‬ ‭2:21-23‬ ‭MSG‬‬).

Born and raised on Long Island, New York, I migrated to Australia in 1999. That’s when I married my beautiful wife, Anna, and we planted our church and Bible School. We’re now the proud parents of four children, ranging in age from nine to twenty-two. We’re still pastoring the same beautiful church, Church on the Park, in the the heart of Brisbane, Australia (https://www.brisbanefire.com). We also continue to teach our awesome students at Holy Fire Ministry Training School (https://www.holyfireschool.com). I love to write and encourage God's people. And something that many people don't know, I'm a DJ as well (aka DJ SOL Vibes).
