Morning Thought: When you finally find what you’ve been looking for you point and shout: “There!” In the same way, the Lord finds you and exclaims: “There! There is where I want to setup camp. There is where I want to dwell.” Ezekiel begins with God’s glory residing with his people. But then, because of their idoltry, he flies away. It ends with the Lord revealing his grace and returning to reside with his chosen ones. Ezekiel’s last verse shows God’s whole purpose by unveiling his name, Yahweh-Shammah, meaning ‘The Lord is there.’ No longer is he away, he is there. Likewise, wherever you are, there is where God longs to be. “And the name of the city from that day shall be, ‘The LORD is there” [YHWH-Shammah] (Ezekiel 48:35, NASB).
