Morning Thought: Circumstances are not your master; Jesus is your master. Throughout history God has turned the darkest dungeons into the brightest displays of his glory. Remember Paul and Silas. They were severely beaten and locked in prison, but did not lose sight of who was in charge. At about midnight they prayed and sang praises, releasing the power of God to invade their cell. An earthquake shook the foundations, setting them free and eventually leading the jailer and his household to transforming faith in Jesus. Whatever your circumstances, praise the King, who like a boomerang is the Master of turning things around. “Now I want you to know, brethren, that my circumstances have turned out for the greater progress of the gospel” (Phil. 1:12, NASB; cf. Acts 16:22-34).
