Two Kinds of Confidence

Morning Thought: Did you know the same Hebrew word (ksl) that spells ‘foolish’ also spells ‘confidence’? In Scripture there’s two kinds of confidence. There’s the false confidence of a con-man. He walks proudly, but doesn’t realise he’s about to fall into a ditch. Then, there’s the confidence of someone who trusts God and walks in the Lord’s ways. Be the one who puts your confidence in the all-knowing and all-powerful God, rather than the fool who puts confidence in himself. “Do you see a man wise in his own eyes? There is more hope for a fool than for him” (Proverbs‬ ‭26:12,‬ ‭NASB‬‬).

I was born and raised in Long Island, New York. In 1999 I migrated to Australia, married my beautiful wife, Anna, and we planted a church and Bible School. We are now the proud parents of four children ranging in age from five to eighteen. We are still pastoring the same beautiful church, Church on the Park, in the the heart of Brisbane, Australia (www.brisbanefire.com). We also continue to teach our awesome students at Holy Fire Ministry Training School (www.holyfireschool.com). I love to write and encourage God's people. And something that many people don't know, I'm a DJ as well (aka DJ SOL Vibes).
