Roots are Ugly

Morning Thought: Roots are ugly but they are the source of a tree’s life and strength. What gives life is usually not pretty. Embrace what others may think is ugly and old-fashioned. On the cross Jesus was marred beyond appearance. And yet, here lies your roots, the source of authentic spiritual life. It’s in the cellar that wine matures and it’s through the darkness that we are changed into the Lord’s image. “Just as many were astonished at you, my people, so His appearance was marred more than any man and His form more than the sons of men. Thus He will sprinkle many nations, kings will shut their mouths on account of Him…” (Isaiah‬ ‭52:14-15‬, NASB‬‬).
