Clapping Leaves

Morning Thought: Creation sings, dances, hides and at times lunges with a roar. Some Christians see creation as a wall separating them from God. It leads to idolatry, so I must close my eyes. The Psalms, however, draw you out of darkness into light. Through the Psalms, the Lord grabs you by the hand and pulls you into his sun-bathed world with clapping leaves, breaking waters and majestic clouds. You now see the world animated by the King, the Master Artist. Today, worship with your eyes open. “Bless the Lord, O my soul…He makes the clouds His chariot; He walks upon the wings of the wind; He makes the winds His messengers, Flaming fire His ministers” (Psalms‬ ‭104:1, 3b-4‬ ‭NASB‬‬).

Born and raised on Long Island, New York, I migrated to Australia in 1999. That’s when I married my beautiful wife, Anna, and we planted our church and Bible School. We’re now the proud parents of four children, ranging in age from eight to twenty-one. We’re still pastoring the same beautiful church, Church on the Park, in the the heart of Brisbane, Australia (https://www.brisbanefire.com). We also continue to teach our awesome students at Holy Fire Ministry Training School (https://www.holyfireschool.com). I love to write and encourage God's people. And something that many people don't know, I'm a DJ as well (aka DJ SOL Vibes).

  1. It’s actually how you see it. I’ve always found Creation constantly praising Him and worshipping Him with their very existence. Simply in the fact that He is the Creator.
