Dead, Raw & Broken

Morning Thought: God uses the weak things of the world to overturn the strong. Samson was weaponless, but surrounded by hostile forces. He looked around him and saw a dead donkey jawbone. Picking it up, he slayed a thousand Philistines. The real spiritual warrior doesn’t need a stockpile of weapons. It’s the Spirit of God that makes you strong. And like Samson, Jesus wants to take you into his hands – dead, raw and broken – and use you as a weapon against the forces of darkness. “The Philistines came toward him shouting. The Spirit of the Lord came powerfully upon him. The ropes on his arms became like charred flax, and the bindings dropped from his hands. Finding a fresh jawbone of a donkey, he grabbed it and struck down a thousand men” (‭‭Judges‬ ‭15:14-15,‬ ‭NIV‬‬).

Born and raised on Long Island, New York, I migrated to Australia in 1999. That’s when I married my beautiful wife, Anna, and we planted our church and Bible School. We’re now the proud parents of four children, ranging in age from nine to twenty-two. We’re still pastoring the same beautiful church, Church on the Park, in the the heart of Brisbane, Australia (https://www.brisbanefire.com). We also continue to teach our awesome students at Holy Fire Ministry Training School (https://www.holyfireschool.com). I love to write and encourage God's people. And something that many people don't know, I'm a DJ as well (aka DJ SOL Vibes).
