Morning Thought: Once you see a real Van Gogh painting, it’s hard to be satisfied with a reprint. The copy misses the artist’s detailed strokes and his vibrant use of colours. Imitations leave out the genius of the original. Today, many people read the Bible and try to copy what they read. We end up with a cheap imitation rather than the masterpiece. Instead, when hearing Scripture, let the Master himself work in you what you hear. Pray: “Master, make me into your work of art.” “For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago” (Ephesians 2:10, NLT).
