Imitation or Masterpiece

Morning Thought: Once you see a real Van Gogh painting, it’s hard to be satisfied with a reprint. The copy misses the artist’s detailed strokes and his vibrant use of colours. Imitations leave out the genius of the original. Today, many people read the Bible and try to copy what they read. We end up with a cheap imitation rather than the masterpiece. Instead, when hearing Scripture, let the Master himself work in you what you hear. Pray: “Master, make me into your work of art.” “For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago” (Ephesians‬ ‭2:10‬, NLT‬‬).

I was born and raised in Long Island, New York. In 1999 I migrated to Australia, married my beautiful wife, Anna, and we planted a church and Bible School. We are now the proud parents of four children ranging in age from five to eighteen. We are still pastoring the same beautiful church, Church on the Park, in the the heart of Brisbane, Australia (www.brisbanefire.com). We also continue to teach our awesome students at Holy Fire Ministry Training School (www.holyfireschool.com). I love to write and encourage God's people. And something that many people don't know, I'm a DJ as well (aka DJ SOL Vibes).
