No Matter Where

Morning Thought: The life story of Jephthah is a beacon of hope to all who were born in non-ideal circumstances. Jephthah was born from a prostitute. His father’s sons (half-brothers) rejected him and chased him out of town because of his ungodly origins. However, Jephthah became a mighty warrior and soon his clan came to him for help. God miraculously used him and he delivered Israel and became their leader. No matter where you come from, God can raise you up and use you. “Jephthah the Gileadite was a mighty warrior. His father was Gilead; his mother was a prostitute…Jephthah went over to fight the Ammonites, and the Lord gave them into his hands. He devastated twenty towns from Aroer to the vicinity of Minnith, as far as Abel Keramim. Thus Israel subdued Ammon.” (Judges 11:1, 32, 33 NIV)
