Morning Thought: The Blessing in Numbers 6:24-26 encapsulates God’s heart toward his people. Israel’s priests spoke it to impart Yahweh’s blessing.
In Hebrew, it’s only fifteen words and takes about fifteen seconds to recite. This is one of the most likely reasons Samekh, the fifteenth Hebrew letter, surrounds it in the Hebrew text. Samekh also represents the number sixty and precisely sixty Hebrew letters are in the blessing. Yes, I recounted it this morning.
I’ve been speaking this blessing over you. Please join with me in speaking it over those around you. Jesus’ blood has made us into his priests, and through speaking God’s Word, we take ground back from the enemy (Rev. 1:6).
