Morning Thought: Last week, when I woke, I looked out the window and saw the morning star. Surrounded by predawn darkness, it shined bold and bright, getting my attention. The morning star prophesies that though the night is long and bleak, the day is coming. The war on Israel, Ukraine’s invasion, soaring inflation and hostility against God’s moral laws are all part of this age’s darkness. Jesus, the bright morning star, gives us hope that his Kingdom of light will soon reign, restoring all things. In Revelation, he says, “I am the root and descendant of David, the bright morning star” (Rev. 22:16).
